  • Overview of the space industry – Bidushi Bhattacharya (30 minutes)
  • Q&A with Twyman Clements, CEO of Space Tango (10 minutes)
  • Attendees join breakout rooms to do case studies of Space Tango  and Agnikul (30 minutes)
  • All attendees return to main session to present their findings (20 minutes)

Dr. Bidushi Bhattacharya is Founder and CEO of Astropreneurs HUB, a firm focused on growth of the commercial space industry (“NewSpace”). After two decades with NASA on projects including the Hubble Space Telescope and Galileo probe to Jupiter, Bidushi realized that the key to achieving humanity’s full potential in outer space is global participation. The Astropreneurs HUB team provides mentoring to NewSpace startups, access to the International Space Station to conduct research, and a popular, unique hands-on satellite workshops for the citizens of Planet Earth.

Bidushi serves on the Global Entrepreneurship Network Space Advisory Board, chairs the Tech Singapore Advocates Space Working Group, and advises startups such as NewSpace HUB and TinyMOS. Over the course of her career Bidushi has inspired audiences, experts and non-experts alike, to consider their roles in the democratization in outer space. Bidushi is a TEDx speaker, and has been featured in Forbes, Channel News Asia, and other media platforms. She holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in space physics from UCLA as well as dual degrees from Rutgers University a B.S. in mechanical engineering and B.A. in physics.

Part 1:
Overview of the global “NewSpace” economy

Space-based technology & services offer a unique vantage point for data-driven solutions that help Planet Earth. In this series of online courses, we discuss the commercial space ecosystem, NewSpace, and it’s future in the post-COVID global economy.

Part 2:
A group exercise for participants to brainstorm NewSpace startup ideas

  • Participants work in breakout sessions to review the business model, market and technology of selected space companies.
  • Each session’s findings are published online as a community resource.
  • Participants receive a certificate of participation.
  • NewSpace professionals stop in for guest lectures, as appropriate.

You will discover the difference between the traditional space sector and the rapidly growing commercial space ecosystem.
