Satellite Imagery of Earth – NASA Data Analytics

This is a limited enrollment, hands-on virtual workshop for professionals and students.  who are interested in the rapidly growing commercial space sector, known as NewSpace.

Satellites image every location of Planet Earth daily. This course will introduce use cases and toolkits for extracting data from Earth Observations (EO). Students will apply these concepts to NASA HARVEST data in a hands-on, guided exercise. Topics include:

• The Evolution of NewSpace
• Intro to Agriculture Monitoring from Space
• Fundamentals of Satellite Image Processing
• Hands-on Activity – Classification of Satellite Imagery

In a guided exercise, workshop participants will apply their new knowledge to the development of a product or service idea for NewSpace.

This course will be taught by Sneha Manimurugan, NASA Harvest data scientist and Dr. Bidushi Bhattacharya, former NASA scientist and CEO of AstroHub.

Participants will receive a professional development certificate. This interactive course is limited to 25 attendees.
